About Us

Originally built in the 17th Century as a Coaching House, The Kings Head later became a public house due to a feud between the landlords next door neighbour, the landlord of the Spread Eagle. As a coaching house, they would sell logs, and the Pub landlord decided to sell logs as well. The feud began and the Coaching House began selling Ale and became The Kings Head as we know it today. Through the ages, the pub has seen much change and became the regular watering hole for the 51 Squadron, and local pub to RAF Snaith.

Today, The Kings Head is owned and run by a local village lass that was born and brought up in the village itself. Whilst most village pubs have slipped into negative equity and closed, Ema was determined that her home village would not lose its heart and its local pub, like it had lost its Post Office, the George and Dragon Pub, Newsagent and even its fruit and veg stall… So today offers a warm friendly atmosphere for locals and passers by alike. With home cooked food thanks to resident chef Pascal Tahay, a Sunday League Football Team plus plenty of entertainment and fundraising events for the local community, The Kings Head continues to be the centre of a typical country Village.
